Today we'll cover these topics: my first steps in the Sync Licensing world, plans for this month, and the lovely ski break I had last month.

First, let's talk about January highlights. I took on a Sync Licensing training to learn the business of getting my music into films, TV shows and ads, and to get started the right way.
Now, you might be wondering how the Sync Licensing business is different from the traditional Music Business. Here are the key differences:
- The clients are companies and not consumers.
- Music has value in the Sync Licensing world and is being paid for versus consumed for free.
- It's the music that matters, not so much how you appear on social media.
With the knowledge I've gained so far, I've been building a music catalogue for Sync Licensing. I've collaborated on a few songs with my friends Simon Baker and Ilari Pitkänen, and I've also created some of my own.

I should be able to publish the first half-a-dozen songs in early February and then keep adding more in the coming weeks and months.

On a personal note, I had a lovely ski holiday in January. My wife and I skied for a few days in La Thuile and Courmayeur ski resorts in Italy.
Those are in the western part of the Alps which has enjoyed a lot of snowfall this winter. Unlike the eastern part, which has been reported to have less snow so far.
So for us, the weather was great, the pistes were in very good condition, and the timing was perfect. It was less busy and we could get everywhere without queuing.
I've got some more skiing planned for this winter, which I look forward to very much.
