Changing the tone of an instrument in the mixing phase

Today I was mixing Guarda che luna and was having a bit of a hard time getting the sax solo to sit in the mix well. The sax sounds great on its own, but in the mix it sounds too bright.

I pulled from my bag of tricks an old but an easy way to change the tone from bright to dark.

It's called a Tilt EQ!

The idea is that the tilt EQ is like a seesaw so when you boost high frequencies, you cut low frequencies and vice versa.

I hope to keep seeing you around.
Have a wonderful day and take care! 🤗❤️
